Eritrea Gaming is the official administrative platform for the Eritrea Gaming Authority, established under Eritrean Law. The Authority is responsible for assessing license applications, supervising licensed businesses and maintaining the standards applicable to authorised online gaming activities under its jurisdiction.
Our regulatory approach is intended to support legitimate gaming businesses while protecting players, preserving the integrity of the industry and preventing gaming services from being used for unlawful purposes.

Applications are assessed through a structured review process covering corporate ownership, financial standing, management suitability, operating systems and regulatory readiness.
Licensed businesses are expected to maintain compliance throughout the entire license term, not only during the initial application process.
Supervisory activities include periodic reporting, compliance reviews, risk assessments, inspections and requests for supporting information.
Where a licensed business fails to meet its obligations, the Authority may take proportionate regulatory action in accordance with the applicable framework.
Available measures may include formal directions, additional license conditions, financial penalties, suspension or revocation.
Material enforcement actions and regulatory notices may be published where required.
The public register allows players, commercial partners, payment providers and other interested parties to confirm whether a business holds a current Eritrea Gaming license.
The register displays:
Two license categories are available depending on the nature of the applicant’s business activities.
For approved businesses that provide online gaming services directly to players.
Subject to the final regulatory framework, permitted activities may include online casino games, sportsbook services, live casino, poker, virtual games and other approved gaming products.
Applicants must demonstrate suitable ownership, adequate financial resources, reliable technology and appropriate controls for compliance and player protection.
For businesses supplying products or services to licensed gaming operators.
This may include gaming software developers, platform providers, game studios, live gaming suppliers and other material gaming service providers designated by the Authority.
Applicants must demonstrate technical competence, suitable ownership and the ability to meet applicable security and integrity standards.
Every application is assessed individually. Submission of an application does not guarantee that a license will be issued.
The applicant reviews the eligibility criteria, license categories, fees and required documentation.
The completed application and supporting documents are submitted through the authorised application channel.
The applicant’s gaming systems, policies, internal controls and operational arrangements are assessed against the applicable standards.
Approved applicants complete any outstanding requirements before the license and official verification record are activated.
Licensed businesses are expected to operate honestly, transparently and in accordance with all applicable license conditions.
Owners, directors and key persons must remain fit and proper throughout the license term.
Operators and suppliers must protect personal information, gaming systems, transaction records and access credentials from unauthorized use.
Before dealing with a business claiming to hold an Eritrea Gaming license, confirm its details through the official verification service.
A valid verification result should correspond with the operator’s:
A logo, certificate or license number displayed on a website should not be treated as proof of authorisation unless it can be independently confirmed through the official register.
Access the documents needed to apply for, maintain or update an Eritrea Gaming license.
Available resources include:
Official announcements, framework updates, compliance deadlines and enforcement notices.
There are currently no regulatory notices available for publication.
Businesses seeking authorisation should review the license conditions, eligibility requirements, fees and required documentation before beginning an application.
Applicants are responsible for providing complete, accurate and current information. Additional information may be requested at any stage of the assessment.
An Eritrea Gaming license does not automatically authorise a license to offer gaming services in every country or territory.
Each licensee remains responsible for identifying and complying with the laws of every market in which it operates, advertises, accepts players or provides gaming related services. A license must not be presented as replacing any local authorisation that may be required.
